Caring for Children, Supporting Families, Strengthening Community
Bryan Reed, a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), joined Share Ourselves in 2023 and brings with him a deep commitment to pediatric care and community health. In addition to his clinical work, Bryan serves as an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University—his alma mater—helping train the next generation of healthcare providers.
From Personal Experience to Purposeful Care
Growing up in a small town with limited access to care, Bryan understands firsthand how challenging it can be for families to navigate complex healthcare systems. That experience shapes how he approaches his work today and why he values the team-based model at Share Ourselves.
“We strive to be a one-stop shop for families—medical, dental, case management—so they don’t have to worry about navigating everything alone,” Bryan explains. “Families are already juggling so much, and our goal is to make care easier and more accessible.”– Bryan
Bryan found his calling in pediatrics because of the joy and resilience children bring into the clinic every day. “I love working with kids because they’re happy and resilient, even when they’re sick,” he says. But for Bryan, caring for children also means caring for the people who support them. “I really enjoy making sure the family’s okay. If we take care of the family, they can take care of the child. That’s what makes our work so meaningful.”
Stories That Stay With You
One patient story continues to stay with him. A single father arrived at Share Ourselves with his two young sons after relocating from abroad. The family was living out of their car and faced multiple barriers to care, including navigating a new healthcare system and securing critical services for one of the children. Through coordinated referrals, case management, and collaboration across departments, the family was able to find stable housing and access the therapies their child needed.
“Even after all that, he came back and brought us a cake,” Bryan shares. “It’s moments like that that make this work so special.”
Bryan takes pride in what Share Ourselves offers the community and the level of care provided to every patient. “At Share Ourselves, we can give top-tier care to every patient, no matter their circumstances,” he says. “Every donation, every volunteer, every bit of support helps families get the care they need and feel valued. That’s why our work matters.”
Thanks to community and donor support, providers like Bryan are able to go beyond appointments and prescriptions—helping families access stability, dignity, and long-term health. It’s a mission Bryan is proud to be part of and one that continues to make a lasting impact across the community.
Why Share Ourselves — and Why It Matters
“Our care is top tier. We provide the same quality of care that any private practice would — but to everyone, regardless of insurance, income, or background.” He emphasizes that many people don’t realize the depth of services offered or the impact these services have on health and well-being.
That’s where donor support and community involvement play a vital role. Many Share Ourselves services — from food distribution to social support programs — are sustained by philanthropy, allowing the organization to go beyond basic care to holistic, person-centered support.

Advice for Future Healthcare Providers
For those considering a career in healthcare or community health, Bryan offers thoughtful guidance:
“Check out opportunities at organizations for volunteering or shadowing. See what it’s actually like. It’s fast-moving but incredibly rewarding. You get to connect with people every day — and make a real difference.”
He also stresses the importance of teamwork: “What makes Share Ourselves truly unique is the team. We collaborate, we support each other, and we’re all here because we want to help. That makes all the difference.”
